FAQ
Please provide the information on the form, if not already provided.
- Q: How should we introduce you?
- A: My bio is here. The shorter the intro, the better 🙂
- Q: Is there any prep we need to do?
- A: Please download the workshop packet here. Please print one out for each attendee. They will also need a pencil/pen.
- Q: What kind of room setting should we have?
- A: The session works with any kind of room setting. Theater/Classroom/Workshop.
- If using a theater setting, please provide a clipboard or similar rest so they can write easily.
- If using a workshop setting, 5-10 people per table can work.
- A: The session works with any kind of room setting. Theater/Classroom/Workshop.
- Q: Do attendees need to do any prep work?
- A: No.
- Q: How many attendees can attend?
- A: There is no limit to the number of attendees.
- Q: What if we start late?
- A: Please note that if the session starts late, then we will not have enough time for Q&A and activities. I recommend asking attendees to arrive 15-20 early to pick up lunch on a first-come first-served basis. This has worked well in the past.
- Q: Can men attend the session?
- A: The session is based on gender based research focusing on issues that typically apply to women. However, even though gender based research is binary, characteristics actually lie on a spectrum. Many of the issues don’t universally apply to women and some apply to men as well. Men have attended the session in the past and found it extremely valuable to them, though I don’t expect it to universally apply to all men. On the flip side, I have observed that women are much more open about discussing the discrimination they face in the workplace when men are not present making the overall session more intimate, impactful and productive. Based on your goals, you can pick what works best for your organization. I am happy to discuss specifics further.
- Q: Any post workshop things we should do?
- A: I recommend organizing a follow up session to go over the activities to share insights and learnings. This is even more important if you’ve chosen the 1 hour format since a lot of folks may not do homework on their own 🙂
- I will follow up with the feedback received from the session. Consistently, attendees request more sessions of this sort or deeper workshops on a few topics.
- In addition, I would highly recommend continuing open conversations around promotions as the attendees learn and grow together.
